As your home inspector it is my duty, and my privilege, to provide you with the best service possible and to arm you with the information you need about the condition of the property. With over 45 years of experience in construction, property management, and building code enforecement, I have the experience and knowledge necessary to provide a detailed inspection and to distinguish between major and minor problems with the home.

I encourage you to be present during the inspection. You'll be able to see the condition of the home through my eyes, and I'll be able to explain everything to you as I move throughout the house.

A Brief History

Born at home in Bridgeport, NY.
Raised in the Town of Sullivan on Fyler Road.
Graduated Chittenango High School in 1968.
Enlisted in the US Army 1969 and served in Combat with the 101st Airborne Division, 3/506th Task Force in Vietnam 1970-1971.
Served as Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves 3d Bn, 389 Regt, 1st Bde 1972-1974.
Awarded The Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal in Vietnam.
Joined the Chittenango Rotary Club in 1977.
Moved to Long Island in 1979 and owned and operated RWD Development Company based in Port Washington and served as Superintendent of Buildings and Code Enforcement Officer for the Villages of New Hyde Park, Manorhaven and Plandome Manor. Served as a member of the Nassau County Planning Commission.
Operates a construction consulting/restoration and home inspection business from 1996 to present day.
Five children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Moved home to Chittenango in 2007 and designed and directed the construction of Chittenango’s first Habitat for Humanity home located on Dyke Road.
Rejoined the Chittenango Rotary Club in 2008 and Chairs the Club’s construction projects and served as 2014-2015 Club President.
August 2014 was asked to supervise the design and reconstruction of the Clear Path for Veterans Woodshop and Art House Project.
August 2015 accepted the position of Director of Facilities for Clear Path For Veterans in Chittenango, NY and resigned in August of 2018 to commit full time to consulting/inspection business.

Standards and Qualifications

I've been trained by some of the best inspectors in the country, and carry the AHIT certification. AHIT is the largest home inspection training institute in North America, and is approved by ASHI, NACHI, and other professional organizations. I'm ready to put that experience and knowledge to work for you.

I have had following rankings for the New York State Civil Service Exams: Ranked #1 Director of Codes, #1 Code Enforcement Officer, #1 Structural and New Construction Examiner (Electrical), #1 Construction Inspector II by Onondaga County Civil Service and #1 Code Enforcement Officer by Madison County Civil Service.

I also adhere to the New York State Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for home inspectors and am a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).
